There are two circles that make up our 2026 artist residency: an outer circle of GOOD LISTENERS, and an inner circle of FEATURED ARTISTS.
We take each circle through an apprenticeship in unlocking ancestor dreaming & abolitionist ancestor theatre aka creating stories as altars for personal and planetary transmutation.
OUR PROGRAM FOR FEATURED ARTISTS INCLUDES:
✰ an intensive creative development & wealth building program for artistic leaders, heavy duty healers and planet whisperers.
✰ an oracle-centered research practicum in sovereign village funding models for grief-honouring economies, and money moving strategies for the spiritual abolitionist.

• heartfelt storytellers of any artistic genre, including the artistry of life, death and daily ceremony
• established healing practitioners, spiritual guides, and/or medicine carriers whose spiritual journey is politicized as abolitionist, including extensive experience with spiritual hygiene, spiritual discernment & multidimensional spiritual protection
• enormously spiritually gifted, well-practised and confident in your unique ability to communicate with the unseen realms of life, embodied planetary relatives, cosmic relatives, and ‘other-than-human’ friends
• devoted earth keepers carrying ancestral promises coming into fruition, including but not limited to: LandBack Promises, Rematriation Projects, Abolitionist Offerings, Solidarity Interventions, Ecological Advocacy, Earth-and-Spirit-Honouring Ecosystems
• new economy visionaries invested in activating, inspiring & organizing audiences, networks and friends to move money in unprecedented & inventive ways, that feed into the emergence of thriving village marketplaces & economies
Update: we’ve extended our featured artist application portal for another cycle. Instead of starting on May 17, we’ll be starting on June 14. The application portal will be open until then.
Our Featured Artist circle is a closed group intensive that takes place over eight months in our Butterfly Sanctuary between June 2026 – January 2027. All classes take place via zoom.
We offer an accompanying professional development curriculum with eight monthly sports medicine bundles for spiritual athletes and artists who work for the planet. Each bundle contains voice notes, videos, podcast episodes or written pieces.
We drop each bundle live in our “backstage” area, starting in May 2026. This becomes our core curriculum to guide our adventure in unlocking ancestor dreaming. The curriculum is available for both Featured Artists and Good Listeners, and is for all levels of experience on an abolitionist spiritual life path, as long as you are fully committed to your self-determined healing journey.
Our Featured Artist circle is an advanced-level program best suited for people who have long-term experience with practising metaphysical technologies, interacting safely and responsibly with the spirit world, and who have traveled to great depths on a (beyond) lifetime journey of abolitionist commitments, including political, social, intimate, and spiritual decolonization.

Dear Featured Artists,
I invite you to bring something beloved to put in center focus of your time in this 8-month Butterfly Sanctuary.
May it be something miraculous you are dreaming into life as the core visionary, leader and steward, that emerges from your spiritual lineages, traditions and unique ancestor healing journey.
This can be an artistic work in any genre, storytelling project, independent practise, or essential village contribution (an independent store, school, retreat space, etc). They can be in any phase of development, from well-established to a handful of seeds.
If you have many things on the go or in your heart – bring all of it. Bring your fullest self.
Bring the dreams powering what and how you create. The dreams you carry from your ancestors, descendents, soul, our beloved planet, and your love story with the universe.
The Butterfly Sanctuary is your time to deepen, workshop, evolve, and/or sustain the development of your projects and dreams, as well as move your stewardship and leadership to the next level.
There are several components to the projects we wish to support:
Some type of “PLANET WHISPERING” is at the heart of your work, made in collaboration with your conversations with elements in the natural world and wider cosmos, like: trees, stones, mountains, water bodies, fire, animals, plants, planets, star systems, quantum universe, or the spirit of life, death, and time itself.
You desire to invest more in your talents of “COSMIC WHISPERING” aka a space to deepen your relationship with Celestial Ancestors, a Celestial body of research, and/or Star Relatives that guide your dreams and fill them with joy.
Your work advocates for the planet in an important way, and also weaves with social, political, interpersonal and liberation-oriented advocacy.
What you are holding and raising makes essential, life-changing interventions on some of our greatest personal and collective concerns. It calls us back home to a thriving village way of life, and takes an abolitionist approach to get there.
Your work speaks truth to power about grief, love, and all aspects of lineage healing, ushering us closer to a global thriving village we know in our bones is already alive.
The heart of this program understands the creator who carries stories & projects as altars for personal, ancestral, communal and planetary transmutation.
Meaning, your personal lived experiences, and personal advocacy for your self-determined healing journey is lifted and exalted in the creative process – including the ancestral initiations, cosmic gateways, hardcore relationship lessons and experiences with life, death, intimacy, caregiving and change that we experience while bringing a creative venture to life, or traveling with it long-term.
Here, we understand the personal experiences we often go through behind closed doors as essential parts of the wisdom unfolding, that make the work what it is, and that must be resourced, recognized and held as a beloved part of the creative process.
Thus, this program is about protecting the survival and life force of the work we steward, and most importantly, protecting the human behind the work.
…Knowing it is your overall alivelihood that makes the dreams you want to see in the world not just possible…but inevitable.
So, bring a vision that has multiple parts, or bring one thing to focus on. Bring the dreams you want to experience more of in life, in intimacy, in community, in the long-term, and over the next 8 months.
The Butterfly Sanctuary is a space for each Featured Artist to receive high-octane, personalized, divination-centered developmental support for what you bring to the table, in any phase of its development, and full-scale wealth building support for your alivelihood, no matter what season of life, death or rebirth you’re in.
BUT!!! While this program is about supporting you in designing, deepening, evolving, and/or sustaining a wealth building model for your unique world…we are not about fitting your creative, spiritual, relational and material wealth into capitalist models of buying and selling, nor is it about “making it” in dominant arts industries.
This project is about a deeper investigation in the ways that capitalism/colonization has limited our imagination and knee-jerk instincts when creating programs, projects, schools, offerings, structures of financial exchange, pitching funders, publishers, producers, crowdfunding, or shaping collaborative financial partnerships.
It is about imagining and strategizing beyond our assumptions of how digital or local marketplaces have to function. Pausing and going deeper when deciding where and how we want our art and offerings to live, and keep living.
That is why we anchor our process in an oracle-centered research practicum on sovereign village funding models and new economy building.
That is also why this program is for artists who love being behind a mic.
You love speaking to a crowd, you love big or intimate audiences, you love one-on-one or small group conversations, and you have no problem speaking truth to power about what you believe in.
You are a powerful voice in the world, and you know that people are listening to you. You know you have the power to activate and lead with compassion, heart, grit, and a no-nonsense determination when it comes to what really matters at a time like this.
You want to use your power, voice and fire to activate and inspire audiences, networks, circles and friends into unprecedented and untold practices of monetary exchange, that we have yet to tap into as a collective, but that could really change the game.
You have gone so deep in your healing journey that you have miraculous wealth spilling out of you on all angles. Now you are motivated to do something just as miraculously badass with that wealth, and advocate for better interpersonal, cultural, and eventually systemic conditions for the life path of a spiritual abolitionist, for all that we create, and for the beloved companions we create with, including the earth herself.
This includes investing in ecosystems that create conditions for widespread repair to emerge, and address ongoing fractures and depletions between teachers and students, artists and audiences, healers and seekers, elders and young people, and ultimately, ancestors and descendants.
This includes nurturing ecosystems that directly resource the inherent artistry of endings and beginnings; the inherent labour of closing something down, starting something new, and of stewarding the sacred spirit of transition.
You want to devote your time to a comprehensive study and body of research on how spiritual technologies, abolitionist relationship values, and thriving village memories can inform more courageous and prosperous wealth building habits that we have yet to see.
The Program
Our Featured Artists meet twice a month on Sunday afternoons between June 2026 to January 2027, for a DREAM TEAM PEER SUPPORT CIRCLE.

part one: unlocking ancestor dreaming
Bring your dreams to the table: sleep dreams, day dreams, oracle visions, prophetic sight, dreams you have for your lifetime and for our planet. Our time together is grounded in an apprenticeship of unlocking ancestor dreaming, where we give focus and attention to all that is emerging from our dream world as a foundational text for this residency.
Shaunga leads us through a process of unlocking meaning from our dreams, to unearth more thriving village memories, abolitionist relationship values, timely planetary protocols, and inventive ancestor healing approaches to our current personal and collective challenges. We study the multi-faceted information, hidden gems, and essential guidance from our dreams that provide direct support as we grow our work, navigate our learning curves, move through our growth edges, feed our process, gain perspective and feel confident in our direction.
We study how our dreams tell us more about the ancestral roots of our artistic traditions, and how an abolitionist-spiritual perspective of storytelling craft can help us design the building blocks of village-centered economies.
This dreamy oracle-centered research anchors our time together, unfolding in mysterious & miraculous ways, guiding us to grow the gardens our hearts have been longing for.
We not only study our dreams, we get to witness in real time how our dreams are in weaving in conversation and synchronicity – how our ancestors are already organizing for liberation together – turning our dreams into reality, for the long haul and over the next 8 months.
part two: stages, pages & screens as altars (open floor peer support)
In part two, we open the floor for each artist to receive high quality peer support and feedback, including divination or spiritual diagnosis on anything coming up during your process.
When you are a Heavy Duty Healer who works for the planet, our stories, art projects, advocacy missions and stewardship become altars in and of themselves: active agents of personal and planetary transmutation, where many things come to die, and many things come to live.
For those of us who create this way, the life path comes with its unique kind of heartbreak.
Especially when we are carrying creative altars designed to transmute heavy legacies of genocide, capitalist industries and complex relationship patterns into more humanizing & earth-honouring conditions. Both the work, and the human behind the work must find their way to strong spiritual, social and communal protection in order to survive and thrive.
It is dangerous to do this work without proper guidance, sincere community, peers and teachers who understand the complex artistic energy healing work involved, and who can see on an oracle-level what’s going on with the altar you are trusted to steward.
That is what part two is for. It is your sanctuary space to receive feedback for whatever is coming up in your work or life in general, with divination and spiritual diagnosis when requested. You can share your works-in-progress, receive insight, witnessing or oracle support on your questions, or ask Shaunga to offer guidance from one of her specialty services. As a small group, everyone will get the chance to listen and ask questions. Usually, one person’s questions speak to many people’s answers!
CLASS TWO:

“how to make a village raised artist grant”
part one: village funding workshop
Shaunga takes us through a comprehensive study of her vision and design of a Village Artist Grant Ecosystem. This is an abolitionist intervention, and collective financial organizing strategy grounded in spiritual architecture, ancestral technologies, and thriving village protocols. When this ecosystem runs at full capacity, we make it possible to raise self-determined artist grants that directly serve the life path of a spiritual abolitionist.
The heart of this system is an ancestral promise to take back our power of public funding. It revolves around the need to bring recognition and tangible reciprocity to disenfranchised labour that keeps the world alive and that powers our external offerings.
For example: The labour of ushering a loved one through an unexpected death portal while in the middle of directing a play. The labour of parenting a sick child while running a business. The labour of trying really hard to break-up well with a creative collaborator while in the middle of a government funded project.
In a Village Artist Grant Ecosystem, we do not see these experiences as inconveniences or separate from our process. We see the lived experiences behind our process, most often informed by enormous grief and loss, as essential labour & artistry that informs everything else we do.
These experiences are where we often learn the most, sacrifice the most, and offer the most of ourselves to…which ultimately become the places we carry the most wisdom and wealth we want and need to give back to the world.
Moreover, this kind of labour fuels the life-blood of thriving villages as we re-member them in our bodies, soul, and in our listening to the planet.
This kind of labour is what we must recognize, prioritize, make more space for, and learn how to collectively and directly fund – in order to protect our most radical expressions of liberation and solidarity.
In this system, we don’t hope or even plan that this type of labour will be covered by other things, or try to get through these seasons and experiences quick enough in order to “do the work.” Instead, we say, this otherwise invisible labour is actually a workload in and of itself, and full of riches. It deserves space and reciprocity.
This is actually what you need an artist grant for.
A Village Artist Grant Ecosystem gives us a way to transform disenfranchised labour into cherished, beloved, paid village roles, which then become the building blocks of thriving village economies that protect our most urgent and heartfelt movements for liberation, solidarity and planetary service.
Part one of our Fire and Earth class is dedicated to studying the foundational principles, spiritual technologies, relationship values, thriving village protocols and financial organizing strategies built into the fabric of Shaunga’s Village Artist Grant Ecosystem.
We then take this system and apply it to your unique situation in part two…
part two: personalized wealth building support
How can the wisdom of this ecosystem support you to workshop, design, (re)build or evolve revolutionary business and producing models for your own practise & world building?
The 8-month period will explore: what disenfranchised labour are you an embodiment of, and an ambassador of, that we all want to see transformed into paid village roles? what unprecedented labour and artistry do you want to see funded, that no other paradigm will fund? How can this research spill into extraordinary visions and models of organizing your practise, or activating your audiences, that had never occurred to you before? What miraculous things does this offer your inner world and the world at large?
What surprises from our shared dreaming help us imagine and map radically organized village-centered marketplaces & grief-centered economies?
Each artist receives personalized wealth building support in collaboration with what you want to see grow in your personal life, your work, your art, and in the garden of your extended communities.
We follow the same open floor peer support model, where everyone gets time to receive:
• divination on your unique money magic language & open doorways
• spiritual diagnosis on what’s going on with your financial body
• what your role is (and what it isn’t) right now, and in a burgeoning thriving village economy
We focus on supporting you enter a new level of developing financial, social, and communal architecture around your work, an advertising & advocacy kit for abolitionist audiences, and deep clarity on where your spirit is calling you to sit and move from in this new chapter.
Along with our two monthly classes, each artist will receive free access to our accompanying core curriculum, and up to 2 private sessions with Shaunga that you can schedule anytime in 2026.
You may be assigned further reading from our core curriculum in between classes. Shaunga will make assignments based on what she thinks will be most supportive to the group. Assignments come in the form of reading, watching videos, listening to voice notes/podcasts, and prompts to journal, self-reflect, meditate, ground, or play. We recommend putting aside 4-5 hours per month for assignments.
You can otherwise approach the full curriculum as a support system for your practise: it is available medicine that you can spend time with as it suits your practise. If you want to make space for the full curriculum, we recommend putting aside 1-2 hours each week to sit with the material.
Additionally: Shaunga will dedicate a chunk of time every week to keep up with your public facing practice, so she has a reference point when offering feedback during group classes or private sessions.

Each Featured Artist receives a personalized welcome bundle, a special gift from our heart, to yours.
YOUR WELCOME BUNDLE INCLUDES: a tarot card specifically designed for you and your journey in this Butterfly Sanctuary, from our one-of-a-kind OTHERWORLDLY GIANTS CLAIRVOYANT TAROT DECK. Your card comes with a brief interpretation and short poem, ie your unique parable and prophecy to unfold throughout our time together.
The bundle also includes a welcome dream tincture: a short recorded meditation designed to fully welcome you into our ancestor dreaming apprenticeship. The tincture will assist you to either deepen relationship with a Cosmic body of research you are already studying, or illuminate a central Celestial Ancestor who will act as your “Guiding North Star” for this 8-month journey.
A Celestial Ancestor can be a planet, asteroid, constellation, star system, or any cosmic phenomena that draws you (super novas, string theory, the big bang). As you dream and wish with this Star Relative, its medicine, relationship lessons and cosmic folktales open doorways for more of your thriving village memories to emerge.
BONUS: You may consider choosing our “devoted friend care package” for your first private session with Shaunga. Here we illuminate your central team of guiding relatives for this season of your development, with time to discuss the medicine of your Cosmic research in greater detail. In December, we host a closing Town Hall, to celebrate & share our most powerful learnings with our friends & extended circles.
DURING THIS TOWN HALL, SHAUNGA WILL GIVE A PRESENTATION OF A “MOCK-UP VILLAGE RAISED ARTIST GRANT” THAT SHE WILL PUT TOGETHER BASED ON WHAT SHE LEARNS FROM OUR PROCESS, INCLUDING HIGHLIGHTING EACH FEATURED ARTIST AND THEIR WORK.
For a spot in the program, we ask that Featured Artists are in a financial space to comfortably offer $555 / month, for a period of 8-months.
Alternatively, you can snag a little discount and offer $4200 up front (save $200!) as a birthday present to Shaunga. (42 in June!)
A note on currency: OTHERWORLDLY GIANTS accepts payment in USD. While Shaunga is currently located in Tkaronto (Toronto), she requires USD to support cross-border travel, co-creation with people in the US (which make up the majority of her collaborations, as well as payment for teachers she studies with), and a commitment to eventually relocate.
While we prioritize receiving USD, we also recognize that when prices get higher the exchange rate is a lot. If you are based in Canada and 1) you feel exceptionally aligned and heart-pulled to the Featured Artist program and 2) the discrepancy of exchange rate on your monthly offering would cause undue stress and hardship, please do let us know in your application. If you’re an otherwise aligned match for the program, we’ll discuss some options.
A note on spiritual safety: Due to the workload of ancestral and cosmic communication, Featured Artists must have extensive experience with channeling and ancestor work in order to safely enjoy this program. This includes facility with multiple realms of spiritual travel & discernment, including protection against spiritual attack on psychic, astral, intergalactic, and ancestral levels.

GOOD LISTENERS can be in any season of spiritual development, including emerging and exploring, and participate in our ancestor dreaming apprenticeship as a self-directed adventure.
