This is a spontaneous divinatory share, and I talk about many things including:

SOME EXTRA THOUGHTS
In today’s video, I mention a conversation I had in Spirit with a future friend who said to me: “Shaunga, I’m concerned. You’re doing so much work and you’re doing it alone.”
Even though this came through in the video, I want to clarify, that I’m not alone and I do have support.
(I’m actually working with an amazing assistant on this series who is giving me much needed support on rolling out my social media – seriously would not be able to do it without her!!)
And I have a lot of other kinds of support by way of friends and peers.
However, there is a truth to the fact that I don’t YET have the kind of support I truly need for what I’m called to do on the planet.
The ship that Spirit sent me to steer is a BIG SHIP.
I run a Ceremonial Musical Theatre Enterprise, and I’m the Director. Sure, it’s in its beginning stages, but it is already energetically functioning like an enterprise.
There is no way that someone like me should be doing what I’m doing without an entire crew.
On a ship like this, you need the spiritual – and practical – equivalent of a stage manager, lighting director, costume designer, choreographer, and all the rest of it.
I’m literally a 5-man band, but I’ve been playing all the instruments. That is very…weird…it’s very me, but it’s weird! 🤣
What do you do when you’re a musical theatre artist?
You write a grant, so that you can get your project fully funded. And you don’t move forward until and unless the money comes through.
Except – queer people of colour have to move forward, even when the money doesn’t come through. If we don’t, we disappear.
Then, there’s the fact that my “SHIP” is not just one thing – it’s the alchemy of an artistic enterprise, plus a spiritual business, plus an (erotic ancestral) movement for liberation.
How do you explain that to a colonial artistic funding body?
And – a lot of “spiritual business coaching” won’t work for you, because they’ll try to get you to package everything coming out of your energy field into sell-able offers, instead of fully understanding your creative process and the support it requires.
And – none of this accounts for the fact that as an ancestral movement for liberation, you are deeply, energetically, emotionally, and physically impacted every day by everything happening in the world.
Your “Not-So-Business-As-Usual” is actually a POWERFUL CONTRIBUTION to the healing of the world, meaning you need very specific protection like all activism needs to be protected.
But this work isn’t considered part of a liberation movement, thus nobody takes into consideration the support and protection you need.
The thing is – if I wanted to write a successful grant for this project, I could probably do it. I have figured out how to pitch my weird ass shit to funders in a way that juries were actually starting to understand.
But ever since I finished my workshop process of PLUTO in 2022, I haven’t tried writing another grant.
I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.
The truth is: the more deeply you come home to your ancestral healing, ancestral power, ancestral INTEGRITY…
…the more you begin expressing & embodying Ancestors who are POWERFULLY PURPOSED to dismantle earth-destructive paradigms and birth earth-honouring paradigms.
This means, if you’re successful in say – getting a grant from the federal government, you are bringing in a financial collaborator into your sacred space that doesn’t want your project to exist.
Or maybe, they’re fine with you existing, as long as you stay at a certain level of subordination.
I mean – that funding body is still powered by colonial energetics and Ancestors committed to upholding white supremacy and the like – the very thing your artistic energy healing is designed to dismantle.
I’m not saying I’ll never write a grant again. And, I’m not saying this to scare people out of writing grants. If you have a grant, it doesn’t mean anything bad will happen to you.
I’m just speaking to the reality of dissonance in the energy field of your project. There’s always a way to tend to dissonance and make it work for you.
But sometimes – you’ll hit a wall, like I did in 2022 when I had government funding for a musical theatre / film project…named…PLUTO.
Like colonial government funding and ABOLITIONIST PLUTO just don’t digest together well 😹
Sometimes you’ll not only hit a wall. But that wall will break your heart.
Like it did mine.
This is why I am so focused on finding alternative funding models for our cherished Ancestor medicine and dreams.
I want business models that LOVE AND WANT our dreams to exist.
I want projects where the energetic financial body of my projects is clear, with no ancestral power struggles under the surface.
I want business models that are worthy of our humanity.
But most of all, I want different options because my heart is broken. This is what I need to heal.
This is why the SPIDERWOMAN TECHNOLOGY is what I have to share as a viable option.
I will tell you more about why and how the funding I had broke my heart, in another breath of this storytelling altar.
And, I SWEAR I will get around to sharing more details about this technology as this launch unfolds 😉

“SpiderWoman” is an Ancestor I work with – one of my Grandmothers, and an “Old One.” She first appeared to me in this play that I wrote, as a manifestation of PLUTO.
You can see that just from 3 minutes, there is SO MUCH of Ancestral medicine you can unpack from this script!!
This is the kind of script study we’ll be doing in the 4-month Artist Retreat and Think Tank, “when we lived and died in thriving villages.“
In each session, I’ll bring a different script to study.
I’ll guide us through a process where we open up the medicine in the script, & nerd out about the sacred origins of storytelling craft.
The whole process is designed to help us connect with our “Inner Thriving Village” and receive our most powerful guidance that we can pour back into our most sacred projects and matters.
