Open Heart Surgery Storytelling
is a Queer, Prizmatic,
Ancestral & Starseed Technology.
It combines quantum (multiverse) communication, energy healing, spell casting, ancestor & animal collaboration with the creative process.
I want to share a little bit about the lineage through which this technology was conjured, incubated and birthed.
Open Heart Surgery Storytelling comes from my extensive experience of co-creating art within QTBIPOC communities.
(ie: Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour)
For more than a decade, I’ve dedicated my heart to building and nurturing sacred spaces for QTBIPOC artists to have safe(r) spaces to write, perform, explore their craft, tell their own stories, dream, build community, develop skills and experience circular mentorship.
A huge part of this work has been focused on healing the wounds that tell us
we’re not good enough
we’ll never have enough
& we haven’t done enough…
(to survive, to live, to create, to be worthy)
QTBIPOC arts spaces is where I was when my Ancestors woke me up. This is where I was when Spirit snatched me away from the never ending loops of burn out, exploitation and extraction. This is where the planets and water sang and danced through me and brought me home. This is where I found my magic.
While I’ve had many significant spiritual teachers and ascension guides, my extended Soulshifting community is where I’ve most significantly trained and apprenticed with Ancestral and Starseed technologies that eventually birthed Open Heart Surgery Storytelling.
This technology remembers that storytellers are among the ones most targeted by ongoing colonization and witch hunting: that tells you something about how powerful we are.
The oppression Queer and Trans artists face in colonial arts “industries” is a reflection of this witch hunting. It’s part of the attempt to displace us from our power and freedom to share our stories and artistry freely with the world, as agents of healing.
More and more artists, creators and writers – especially those who are BIPOC, survivors, disabled, LGBTQ+ or who work with trauma/liberation in their practise – have intuitively opened up to more realms of spirit, ancestors and magic over the years.
On the other hand, many people who have been working as healers or activists are feeling the itch to move away from healing/justice work that gets stuck in the rigidity of always-heavy-angsty and open up more to an ancestral artistry that longs to bloom, play, express, be seen/heard and free.
We need a specific framework and philosophy that supports the unique experiences we have when we create with the ‘otherworldly.’
The stories and projects we create take on a life of their own, their energy becomes a powerful force moving through our lives as a whole, and we need a language to understand what the heck is happening.
If we don’t have strategy when playing with magic and spirit in the creative process, we can easily feel overwhelmed and confused. We can doubt our capabilities and our choices. And, it can impact our mental health, collaborative relationships, and the success or failure of our projects.
Open Heart Surgery Storytelling speaks to many experiences in the magical-creative journey that don’t get addressed otherwise. Here are some things this technology has taught me:

At the end of the day, this is a sacred space for me to continue sharing my purpose and dedication of co-creating a timeline where we know

3 Core Qualities of Open Heart Surgery Storytelling
“be still my lion heart”
Fundamentally, we acknowledge the open-heartedness it takes to BE a writer/creator, and the bravery it takes to release your voice and put your stories on the page, the stage, or whatever the medium.
This technology harnesses the power of the heart, and is designed to bolster repair in the heart. It works specifically with heart ache, heart break, heart strengthening, heart deepening. It helps us follow the heart, lead with the heart, listen to the heart.
“be still my lion heart” is a phrase that describes what it’s like to be in a state of complete adoration and unabashedly in love. Open Heart Surgery reconnects us to this feeling, and helps us remember it is our birth right to be in love with the planet, with life, and with the adventure of creation.
“nerdery as extreme sport”
This is a space to get EXTREMELY nerdy about our passions. We take this approach of extreme nerdery when it comes to studying stories and studying ourselves.
I do this work because I can’t contain my nerding when it comes to learning and talking about storytelling – the character arcs, themes, craft – ALSO combined with my nerdiness about all things magical: quantum physics, multiverse theories, revolutionary witchcraft and holistic healing.
There is no depth or magnitude to how nerdy we can get. This technology encourages all of us to lean in, be extra, be unashamed, be unapologetic, AND GO FULL OUT with whatever you’re a big fucking nerd about.

This is not a space to be shy about how extraordinary we are. We have each been trusted by our ancestors, and by the universe, with such phenomenal talents and gifts that nobody else is carrying or can express in the same way. This is a space to harness your personal magic, claim what makes your artistry unique and have that celebrated. Our magic has been suppressed and hidden for too long. It’s time for us to bloom. We need to. And we need you.
With Open Heart Surgery Storytelling, I approach every writing session, every rehearsal I run, every class I teach as a sacred temple: a portal, a ritual space. We protect ourselves accordingly, we offer our intentions and gratitude, we learn and practise specific technologies associated with magical creativity.
